Bistecca championship in Mercatale


An enogastronomic event that has become a tradition for lovers of the Florentine steak, held in June.

The Steak Championship, promoted by the Municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa and the Pro Loco, presents a challenging "challenge" to participants, which is to eat as much steak as possible.

For everyone, it is possible to purchase fresh steaks from local butcher shops that participate in the initiative and have them cooked by the "master grillers" who will take care of the preparation and reveal the secrets to all people, tourists and citizens, eager to learn the art of grilling.

For those who want to participate in the competition, after purchasing the steaks, they must have them weighed to accurately determine the weight for the competition.

And finally... everyone to the table! Accompanied by a nice glass of Chianti Classico, the competition begins.
