Montaperti - Past and Present in Castelnuovo Berardenga

In remembrance of the historic battle on September 4, 1260 between the Guelphs and Ghibellines, every year in early September in Casetta, a hamlet of Castelnuovo Berardenga, "Montaperti - past and present" is celebrated.

The event is characterized by a rich schedule of initiatives that allow you to relive the most significant stages of the battle, which saw the victory of the Ghibelline army.

There are many activities organized for people of all ages: games, readings, dinners, dances, and much more.

Among the initiatives is also the torchlight procession to the Cippo di Montaperti, the symbolic place of the battle: a pyramid of stone that stands on the hill surrounded by cypress trees.
