An opportunity to run through the territory of Chianti Classico: it's the Chianti Classico Marathon, event that takes place every year on the first weekend of June.

The event was born in the 1970s in Mercatale Val di Pesa and rediscovered in a modern edition in recent years.

Today, the event involves the entire area of the Chianti Classico in the Florence region, including the municipalities of San Casciano Val di Pesa, Barberino Tavarnelle and Greve in Chianti.

Several types of races are planned, including an ultra trail of 45 km, a 21 km trail, and a 10 km nordic walking event. The routes wind through the hills of Chianti, among vineyards, castles, parish churches, and villages, in a magical atmosphere.

This event not only allows you to engage in sports but also to discover the territory and its delicacies: during the event, special visits and tastings are organized in the most important wineries and wine companies in the area.

Furthermore, thanks to the Chianti Classico Card, it is possible to take advantage of discounts and exclusive activities in the participating wineries.
