On the slopes of Mount San Michele

Municipality Radda in Chianti

OUTDOOR / TRAILS / RADDA IN CHIANTI

The trail starts from the village of Volpaia and then proceeds taking you to the entrance of the village where a dirt road starts on the left.

We proceed for some time with slight ups and downs, touching some houses and a historic spring, before entering the forest. After about 300 meters from the last dwelling, the forest track finds a fork. Here one must keep to the left and proceed uphill.

The trail crosses a large area of woods and forests full of streams and clearings. The path, now narrower, now wider proceeds until it reaches a crumbling mill and a stream, past which after a few meters an important fork is encountered and it is necessary to turn left. The road is now wider, but sometimes has mud on it. The road climbs with wide hairpin bends until it reaches the first houses of the village of Badia a Montemuro.

We proceed to the pleasant old town and soon reach the end of the trail, which is placed along the paved provincial road.
